Charmain Tan is a second-time entrepreneur who believes firmly in the importance of sales as the bloodline of businesses. Graduating from the National University of Singapore with a degree in Statistics and Technopreneurship, it was her time spent on exchange in Sweden that led her to start her first business venture in wearable technology.
In 2011, Charmain began developing, producing, and selling ISGLOVES, winter gloves with touchscreen capability. ISGLOVES was a great product: it won awards and was present in various international markets. However, despite the accolades, sales numbers were not substantial. Through this experience, Charmain discovered that many businesses face challenges in optimizing their sales capabilities. Realising this need, she pivoted her business activities and went on a mission to help companies grow their bloodline by generating more sales. In February 2014, she founded Pear Comms Pte Ltd, a company blending high tech and high touch approaches to value-add to small and medium enterprises.
Over her years as an entrepreneur, Charmain has developed a passion for understanding trends in sales, as well as an acute ability to identify gaps in the sales domain and build products and services to fill those gaps. She is a top sales producer and an extensively networked manager. Above all, she is proud to have built a team of dedicated young professionals who tirelessly work towards growing the company.
